Condolence From: Marcia O’Connor
Condolence: Our Mom, was an exceptional woman.
Not just beautiful but strong willed, determined & very smart. Forget trying to beat her at dominos or any card game, you’ll lose your money!
Thank God she wasn’t a fast runner, or she would’ve gotten my sister Monica & I with the broom, and my brother Manny when he skipped school. Not Alex though, not her baby.
She succeeded at every enterprise she took on, either opening a small library in our hometown or starting her own successful company in Chile.
When we moved to the U.S, she became a master sample maker for a NYC company, working long hours & struggling like my Dad to keep us afloat.
When she made her mind up to become a nurse, nothing could stop her, not the long hours, nor the late nights, we were so proud of her, as she became a caring, loving & compassionate registered nurse.
But she truly felt that her greatest accomplishment, was her family. She loved each and every one of us, no matter how many gray hairs we gave her 😊
She loved cooking her delicious Chilean dishes for us, and if my brother Manny was coming, she made sure she had hot dogs for him!
And you should’ve seen how she lit up when her grandchildren visited!
She enjoyed life to the fullest, with us, her pets, her flowers & wild birds, and traveling with Dad to Chile and creating beautiful memories with him.
She leaves a big void in our lives, as we struggle to go on & make her proud.
I wish I had one more moment, one more hug, one more kiss, to see again her beautiful eyes & hear her laugh.
I will always love you Yayita, thank you for making me the woman I am.
Rest In Peace Mom, until we see you again 💔
