Canton, PA – Florence L. Toscano, 98, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021 at her daughter’s residence in Kentucky. Florence was born on May 22, 1923 and lived most of her young life in Brooklyn, NY. On October 24, 1943, she married the love of her life and they spent forty-two years together before his passing in 1985.
Florence lived in Floral Park, NY where she raised her family and then settled in Piscataway for over fifty-years. After retiring from AT&T, she became involved with the Piscataway Senior Citizens Center where she helped run Pandora’s Thrift Store. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting afghans for every member of her family. Florence loved being in the kitchen cooking and enjoyed time at the casino’s playing slot machines.
Florence loved spending time with family; especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even a few great great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband Potito (Buddy) Toscano, her daughter Florence Florek and great-granddaughter Jessica McKendree.
She leaves behind her daughters; Lucy Podrasky (Dave,) Joanne Triplett (Stan,) and Marie Layng (Rob) as well as eleven grandchildren; Jeanette (Chuck,) Valerie (Bob,) David (Beth,) Christopher (Erin,) Donna (John,) Anthony (Stephanie,) Danielle (Eric,) Desirae, Rob (Rachel,) Tim (Peter,) and Brian (Kayla) and thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 on Monday, December 6, 2021 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm and on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 beginning 8:45am.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 9:15am on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 followed by a 10:00am Funeral Mass at St. Frances Cabrini Church in Piscataway. Mausoleum entombment will follow at Lake Nelson Memorial Park, also in Piscataway.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations sent to the Piscataway Senior Citizens Center, 700 Buena Vista Avenue, Piscataway, NJ 08854 would be appreciated.
