Obituary of Elizabeth A Fulton
Elizabeth Fulton, 91, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at home in South Plainfield.
Born in Wilkinsburg, PA., Elizabeth (Betty) grew up in the greater Pittsburgh area and settled in South Plainfield in 1965.
Betty met Richard Fulton on a blind date that blossomed into love, marriage and family. They traveled through life together both on a train across the United States and by boat back from Europe, care of the US Military. Betty helped support her family by being a lab tech at Muhlenberg Hospital for over 20 years. After retiring, she was active in the South Plainfield Senior Center (flower arranging and Tai Chi), Road Runners, Traveling Friends, and was a formidable bridge player.
A longtime member of Wesley United Methodist Church in South Plainfield, Mrs. Fulton participated in many of the church committees, functions and activities. She was active as a Sunday School teacher, United Methodist Women, a trustee and played in the hand bell choir.
Betty was always kind and generous. Her light hearted and caring demeanor created lifelong friends and kept the family together, in the states and across the pond, through the good and not so good times. If you ever had the pleasure of spending time with Betty, you felt you were home.
Betty is predeceased by her husband Richard Sr. who died in 2005 as well as her siblings, Sarah Walters and Linden and Thomas Antisell and is survived by her children, Lisa McCall of South Plainfield, Richard Jr. also of South Plainfield and Steven and his wife Amy of Edison and grandchildren, Ronald McCall, Nathan Witkowski and Julia Fulton.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 3-6pm in the South Plainfield Funeral Home 2456 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080
Elizabeth’s funeral service and burial is being held privately. She will be laid to rest alongside her late husband in Hillside Cemetery.
Memorial Service will be held on July 22, 2023 at 11 am at Wesley United Methodist Church 1500 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Repast to follow the service.
