

Obituary of Vera Talpash
Piscataway – Vera Talpash, 95, passed away in the early hours of January 29, 2025 at Brookdale Hamilton Assisted Living. Born in Edwardsville, PA to Michael and Anna (Mazur) Pelak, Vera met her late husband, Michael Talpash and married in 1952. They settled to Elizabeth for a short time then moved to Piscataway in 1956.
Vera started her career working for Esso Corporation prior to retiring from the Piscataway Board of Education. For thirty-seven years, Vera worked as an Administrative Secretary and retired in 2001. Vera had a strong faith in God and was a dedicated member of Holy Ghost Carpatho–Russian Orthodox Church in Manville. She served on the Church Board as Secretary and sang in the church choir.
A wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, Vera was extremely devoted to her family. She was an avid reader and was known for her generosity and willingness to help those in need. She also enjoyed cooking, arts and crafts, and loved to travel, visiting many different countries.
Predeceased by her husband Michael who died in 1988 and by her sister Mary Palchanis; surviving is her daughter, Larissa Alles and husband Robert, two grandchildren; Matthew Alles and Melanie McCall and her husband Keith, her sister Anna Pelak and brother Michael Pelak and his wife Jetta.
At the request of the Talpash family, services for Vera will be held privately and she will be laid to rest with her husband at Holy Ghost Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Cemetery in Hillsborough.
