Obituary of Timothy John Price
Fairfield, NJ – Timothy John Price, 70, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Mountainside Medical Center in Glen Ridge, NJ.
Born to William and Marjorie Price, Tim was raised in South Plainfield, graduating from South Plainfield High School Class of 1972. Tim went on to further his education at Seton Hall University, here he studied Communications, with an emphasis on T.V. and Broadcasting. While at Seton Hall, he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, and the Student Programing Board President, and graduated Class of 1976 with a Bachelors of Arts. Through the years, Tim resided in South Orange and Berkley Heights before settling in Fairfield, where he has lived for over 15 years.
After graduating Seton Hall, Tim began working for CBS News, working his way up to a Producer for the CBS Morning News. In 1987, he left CBS, and later went on to work for Media Link. A PR Firm, Tim helped coordinate promotions for various clients during his 15 year tenure at Media Link.
Not only were news and current events a large portion of his career, Tim could often be found keeping up with what was going on in the world, whether it was watching the news, or reading the New York Times. He also enjoyed watching movies and listening to music, proudly discovering artists like Bruce Springsteen well before they were popular. Taking pictures and video were, again, not only a part of work, but also things Tim was passionate about in his personal life. He will also be remembered for his joy of hosting friends and family throughout the years.
Predeceased by his father, William Price, Tim is survived by his children, Colin and his wife Erin, Moira and her husband Daniel Clark, and Michael and his fiancé Gabrielle Faiella; grandchildren, Caroline, Connor, James, and Clare; and mother, Margie Price. He will also be deeply missed by his partner of 18 years, Kathy Byrne, and brothers, William, Michael, and Patrick, along with a host of extended relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ, on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 5 PM to 9 PM.
A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart RC Church, 149 South Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ, on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 10:30 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home prior to mass, beginning at 9:30 AM.
Cremation services will be held privately following mass.
In lieu of flowers, the Price family has requested that donations be made to the National PKU Alliance, in Tim’s name.
