Obituary of Marie Piesche
South Plainfield – Marie Eleanor Piesche, 80, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 10, 2025.
Born on July 29, 1944 in Roselle, Marie has been a resident of South Plainfield for 58 years. She initially worked as a Bank Teller for The First National Bank of Roselle, then as a waitress for The Plainfield County Club. Later in life she worked as the Office Administrator with Harry Keene, officially retiring as a Dental Assistant with Dr. David Crystal.
Marie, devoted to the Sacred Heart RC Church, was an active member of the Rosary Altar Society. She served as a lecturer during Mass, Eucharistic minister, and she participated in the God’s Special People Mass. Her commitment to her faith and community was evident through her generous involvement in these church activities.
Known as a social butterfly, Marie will be remembered for her quick wit and warm personality. She was an active participant in her daughters' lives, supporting Girl Scouts when they were younger. Her support for her family continued with her grandchildren as she attended all of their milestones and events. She also enjoyed bowling with friends and family as well as spending time at the Jersey Shore, and traveling domestically and internationally. Marie’s vibrant spirit and loving presence will leave a lasting impact on all those who knew her.
Predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Muriel Rankin; brother, Robert Rankin and dear cousin, Carol Gensheimer; surviving are her loving husband of 61 years, Richard Piesche; three daughters, Jeanne Panzera and husband Michael, Katherine Siedenburg and husband Mark Sheklian and Barbara Piesche; beloved grandchildren, Kevin Siedenburg and wife Julie Pham, Kerri Monahan and husband Tim, Michael Panzera, Christopher Siedenburg , Kaitlyn Scarcella and fiancé Dan Bergamo, and god daughter, Karen Connallon.
She will also be missed by her three great grandchildren, Cecilia, Alexandra and Sebastian.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025 at 9AM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, 149 South Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield NJ 07080 at 10AM. Burial will follow mass in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. Family and friends may join together for visitation on Sunday, April 13, 2025 from 4PM – 7PM in the funeral home.
