Obituary of Richard J. Siesputowski

Richard “Richie” J. Siesputowski, 83, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.

Born in Newark, to the late Sigmund and Cecelia (Stonack) Siesputowski, Richard was a lifelong resident of Piscataway Township, retiring to Galloway in 2019.

Richard proudly served in the United States Army, in the Taro Leaf 24th Infantry Division as an Eagle Specialist 4th Class (E-4). He was stationed in Munich, Germany from 1960 to 1963. Richard was awarded two medals - The blue medal, also known as the Presidential Unit Citation, and the red medal, in honor of three consecutive years of service.

Richard was renowned for his craftsmanship as a skilled carpet installer, owning and operating his own carpet installation business. He also worked as a custodian in the Cranford and Piscataway School Districts for over 10 years, retiring in 2018.

Richard enjoyed collecting model trains and spending the weekends cheering on his beloved Philadelphia Phillies and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Above all, he treasured the time spent with his grandchildren. Richard loved cheering them on over the years, whether it be on the football field, basketball court, soccer field, or baseball diamond. He also enjoyed attending horse races with his wife.

Richard is survived by his wife of 62 years, Beverly (MacIntyre) Siesputowski; two sons, John Siesputowski and wife Deborah, and David Siesputowski and wife Jacqueline; along with two brothers, Robert Siesputowski and Ronald Siesputowski. He will also be missed by his four grandchildren: Melissa (husband Evan), Courtney, Tara, and Steven.

Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at Piscataway Funeral Home located at 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway NJ 08854. The memorial services will begin at 11:30 AM, followed by entombment in Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
