South Plainfield, NJ – Michael J. Fiore, Sr., 73, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 1, 2025, at JFK Hospital in Edison, NJ.

Born to the late Armando and Jennie Fiore in Newark, Michael, affectionately known as Pa to his family, and Hook to his friends, has been a longtime resident of South Plainfield, moving here when he was eight years old. Following his graduation from South Plainfield High School, he briefly worked for Consolidated Freight Ways, before beginning his career as an electrician. For over 40 years, Michael worked for his father in laws company, Jack King Electric, before retiring at the age of 62.

Outside of work, Michael enjoyed spending time at the South Plainfield Senior Center, where he could often be found playing Billiards with his friends. He also enjoyed watching horse racing, and visiting the casinos in Atlantic City with the boys. Michael also enjoyed traveling to Aruba, an annual trip he and his wife, Linda, would take with their dear friends, Al and Nicki, and Laurie and Victor.

Above all else, it was the time spent with his family, most of all his grandchildren, which meant the most to Michael.

Predeceased by his brothers, Arthur and Stephen, Michael will be deeply missed by his wife of 53 years, Linda (nee King) Fiore, and children, Denise Ross and her husband Tim, Michael Fiore, Jr. and his wife Melissa and Samantha Liska and her husband Billy. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Rocco, Nicholas, Michael III and Emily; brother, Donald and his wife Christine, and a host of extended relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held at the South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ, on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 3 PM to 7 PM.

A prayer service will be held in the funeral home of Friday, September 5, 2025, at 6:30 PM.

Cremation services will be held privately.
