Patricia C. Stilo Mitchell, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 in New Brunswick, NJ, surrounded by her family.

Pat, as she was affectionately known by her loved ones, was raised by her parents, John Edward and Catherine Pakenham, in Metuchen, NJ and then relocated to South Plainfield, NJ where she spent over 70 years of her life.  It was in South Plainfield where she started and raised her family.  Pat held a position as Head of Volunteer Services at Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield, NJ for many years prior to the hospitals closing and her retirement.  She was also a Communicant at Church of the Sacred Heart in South Plainfield.

Pat’s true devotion in life was her children and grandchildren.  She will be remembered for always being a part of their lives, filling many roles including that of PTA President at their school, many fun loving trips to the beach and Disney, and for having a deep affection for animals. 

Pat is predeceased by her sorely missed daughter Debbie Linkin, son in law, Angelo Porchetta and brother in law, Eddie Cicchi.

She is survived by her beloved husband Allan P. Mitchell. She was formerly married to Robert Stilo (deceased), with whom she shared four children, Bob Stilo and his wife Patty, Laurie Porchetta and Melissa Santora; son in law, Jim Linkin; her adoring  grandchildren Jonathan DeBevoise, Alyssa Porchetta, Joe Porchetta and his wife Ashley, Anthony Porchetta, Bobby Stilo and his wife Danielle, Julie McKeon and her husband Eddie, Katie Stilo, Natalie Stilo, Shannon Santora and Brooke Santora; her dearest great granddaughter Isla Stilo; and her siblings, Jack Pakenham and his wife Alice, Maryann Whitman and her husband Sid and Joan Cicchi, along with a host of extended relatives and friends.

Pat’s family would like to invite everyone to a visitation which will be held at McCriskin - Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 from 4 PM to 7 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at The Church of the Sacred Heart, 149 South Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ, on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at 10 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather in the funeral home prior to mass, beginning at 9 AM.

Her family and friends will accompany her to her final resting place at Hillside Cemetery, 1401 Woodland Avenue Scotch Plains, NJ immediately following the Funeral Mass.
