Terence Barry, 77, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, in Somerville, NJ.
Born to the late Margaret and Michael J. Barry, Terence was raised in Jersey City and graduated from Dickinson High School. Not long after graduating, Terence was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. During his time, he served in Communication and was Honorably Discharged in 1972.
Following his service in the military, Terence settled in New York City, working for various firms in the Finance Industry, retiring from Rothfus Corp., in 2013. In his spare time, he had a knack for sketching and painting.
Predeceased by his parents; sister, MaryAnn; sister-in-law, Doreen; and niece, Denise, Terence leaves behind his brothers, Michael (Rosemary)J. Barry, Jr., James (Cheryl) Barry, John Barry, and Dennis (Barbara) Barry. He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nephew, as well as a host of extended relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held privately at the McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ
In lieu of flowers, the Barry Family has requested that donations be made to the Rahway Relay for Life, in Terence’s name.
