Obituary of Eleanor Doherty

Eleanor Doherty South Plainfield - Eleanor (Olsen) Doherty, 77, died on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 in The Genesis Eldercare Network at The Woodlands in Plainfield. Born in Brooklyn, Mrs. Doherty resided in South Plainfield and North Plainfield for most of her life. A well devoted and highly active member of the St. Stephens Lutheran Church in South Plainfield, Eleanor was also a member of the church choir. She is pre-deceased by her husband Frank who died in 1986, and by her brother Christian Olsen. Surviving are her daughter; Kathleen Pellicane and her husband Joseph of Middletown, her 2 sons; Jeffrey and his wife Kathy of Raritan, and Richard and his wife Joanna of Arizona, and her sister Gladys Monnard of Pt. Pleasant. Also surviving are her 6 grandchildren; Sean and Megan Doherty, Michael and Nicole Pellicane, and Tani and Kiley Doherty. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
