Michael R. Kirchner, 49, passed away January 23, 2014 at the St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Summit, he was raised in Piscataway and has resided in Jackson for the past 15 years. Michael graduated from DeVry Technical Institute and has been an EE Tech with the U.S. Postal Service since 1989. Michael is survived by his loving family which includes his parents, Robert and Dianne Kirchner of Piscataway; his daughter Valerie Kirchner of Jackson; his sister Joanne Joseph and her husband Alfred of Franklin Park; his former wife Marcia Kirchner and a host of family and friends.Services will be held on Sunday at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Rd., Piscataway, NJ 08854 with a visitation period from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. A 3:30 pm prayer service will be held during the visitation time. Entombment will be Monday 12:00 noon at the Hollywood Memorial Park in Union, NJ.As per the request of Michael's family, please no flowers, in lieu of, please make a memorial contribution to St. Peter's University Hospital Renal Unit, 254 Easton Ave., New Brunswick, NJ 08901.
