Obituary of Albert J. Pizza

South Plainfield - Albert J. Pizza, 89, died Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital - Somerset in Somerville. Born and raised in Plainfield, Albert has resided in South Plainfield for over 54 years. He worked as a quality control inspector with American Aluminum in Mountainside until retirement. An honorably discharged veteran, Albert served with the United States Army during WWII. He enjoyed reading, golfing and going to the casino. Albert was also a dedicated communicant of Sacred Heart Church in South Plainfield. Predeceased by his wife of 60 years who died in November of 2014, Mary (Riccardi) Pizza; Albert is survived by his son, Albert A. Pizza of South Plainfield and a host of extended nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016 from 4-7PM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 10AM in Sacred Heart RC Church, 149 South Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080. Albert's cremated remains will be entombed in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
