Obituary of Lois H. Decker

Lois H. Decker, 84, of South Plainfield, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2016, at JFK Medical Center. Lois was born in Gulich, Pennsylvania on October 23, 1931, and settled in South Plainfield with her family in 1962. Lois treasured the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. She loved to cook and bake and she displayed her expertise for 26 years at B&C Deli in South Plainfield. Lois enjoyed baking, especially hundreds of Christmas cookies for family and friends, knitting, and collecting baseball cards. Many years ago, Lois was a field snack Mom with the South Plainfield Junior Baseball Club and worked in the very first standing snack stand. Lois was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, who passed away on May 15, 2015, Charles L. Decker, Sr. Surviving are her three children: John (MaryBeth), Charles (Marianne), and Ellen Decker-Lorys (Stan), and three grandsons, Charles III, Alex, and Cody. She was also predeceased by two siblings Ida and John, and surviving are Sibbie, Carol, and Dean, extended relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016, at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains, New Jersey. Family and friends may attend the visitation hours on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Plainfield Fire Department. Lois was a loving and caring person and her life was centered around her family. She will live on in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, Mom.
