South Plainfield - Daniel C. Gala, 88, died Monday, May 8, 2017.
Born and raised in Montclair, Daniel settled to South Plainfield in 1978.
Active with various disabled Veteran Organizations, Daniel was commander of the Disabled American Veterans. He served our Country Honorably with the United States Army during the Korean War where he suffered shrapnel wounds.
Predeceased by his wife of 48 years Mary Compos surviving are two daughters, Linda Ingersoll (Randy Jewell) of North Carolina and Joann Olander (Edward) of New York, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin Monday, May 15, at 9AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church at 10AM.
Burial will follow in Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
Visitation will be held Sunday 12-2PM and 4-6PM in the funeral home.
