South Plainfield, NJ - Margaret A. Handwerger, 87, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2016 at The Woodlands Care Center in Plainfield. Born in Jersey City, Margaret grew up in Rahway, has lived in Edison and settled to South Plainfield in 1972.
As a homemaker, Margaret enjoyed her time spent with her family. She also loved to play bingo and in her earlier years, she bowled on many different leagues.
Predeceased by her husband John and two siblings; Lillian and Helen, Margaret is survived by her four loving children; John F. of South Plainfield, James and his wife Shirley also of South Plainfield, Jason and his wife Catherine of Hillsborough and Jennifer Smith of Piscataway. She also leaves behind her six adored grandchildren; Jessica, Jaimie, Jackie, Jordan, Stephen and Caleb.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 in McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A religious service will begin 11:00 am in the funeral home with burial to follow at Clover Leaf Memorial Park.
