Obituary of Robert E. Bellek

South Plainfield - Robert E. Bellek, 87, died Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville. Born to the late John and Mary in Brownsville, PA, Robert grew up in Linden and settled to South Plainfield in 1960. An Honorable Discharged Veteran of the United States Army, he was stationed in San Francisco during the Korean War. Robert worked for Raritan Valley Farms in his younger years and retired from Auto Land in Springfield as where he was the Master Parts Salesman. Robert was a life member of the VFW and enjoyed fishing and gardening. Predeceased by his wife of 54 years who died in August of 2013, Betty (Coury) Bellek; surviving are his three children, Wendy Tomei and her husband, Mel, son, Robert and son, Scott and his wife Michelle. He will also be missed by his four dear grandchildren; Kaitlin, Mark, Christina and Scott, a great granddaughter, Kennedy Rose and beloved Dachshund, Muffin. Family and friends may attend visitation on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 from 4-8PM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080. Funeral services will begin at 7PM. Cremation will be held privately on Wednesday. All are welcome to join in the funeral home on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 11AM for committal services which will include the burial of Robert's cremated remains in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
