Obituary of Philip J. Huson

Philip J. Huson Sr., 88, passed away at home in South Plainfield on Sunday, April 30, 2017. Phil was born in Berlin, New Hampshire and has resided in New York state, Jersey City, Oklahoma and Piscataway prior to moving to South Plainfield in 1960. A Veteran of the United States Navy, Phil was an avid golfer and wintered the last 7 years in Naples, Florida. Phil also enjoyed playing pinochle with the family. Phil worked his way up from clerk to assistant store manager over his 30 year career at the A&P food company. After retiring from the A&P, he worked at both Krauszer's and Chem Lawn. He is predeceased by two brothers, William and Leslie Huson. Phil is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Martha; daughter, Linda C. Coffey and her husband Eugene M. Coffey Jr. of Morris Plains, son, Philip J. Huson Jr. and his wife Kathleen C. Huson of Franklin Park; sisters, Grace Divins, Florence Huson and Catherine Huson all of Pennsylvania. Relatives and friends will be gathering on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 6-9pm in the South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Phil's cremated remains will be laid to rest on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Family and Friends should gather 9:30 promptly at the South Plainfield Funeral Home.
