Obituary of Albert Joseph Rosner

Albert "Big Al" J. Rosner, 87, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2015 at The Village at Mint Hill in Mint Hill, North Carolina. Born to the late Frank and Bridget (Lynch) in the Bronx, NY, Al grew up in the New York Borough until 1959 when he moved to Piscataway. He relocated to North Carolina in 2013. Serving three tours of duty with the United States Army, stationing once in Japan, Al was honorably discharged in 1953. He retired after 40 years in the steamship business as Vice Present of Sales for Wilhelmsen Line. A member of the Knights of Columbus, Al was an Usher and communicant of Saint Frances Cabrini for over 30 years. An avid NY Giants and NY Yankee fan, he enjoyed bowling and golfing. A true family man who had unending love for his wife, daughters, sons - in - law, grandchildren and great grandson, he will be truly missed by everyone he touched. Al was predeceased by his loving wife of 47 years, Juliana "Tootsie"; two sons, Peter and William and grandson, Jeremy. Surviving are daughters, Julianne Etlinger and husband John of Manalapan, NJ, Annemarie Steffan and husband David of Charlottesville, VA, Geraldine Kriston and husband Mark of Mint Hill, NC and Mary Lombard and husband Christopher of Waxhaw, NC. He will also be missed by his thirteen grandchildren and great grandson. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Unlimited Possibilities in Mint Hill, and Hospice & Palliative Care and his nurse, Ms. Camille Timberlake, for the loving care and support that they provided. Funeral services will begin Monday with a 9:00 to 10:00 am visitation at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Rd., Piscataway, NJ 08854 followed by a 10:30 am funeral liturgy at St. Frances Cabrini Church in Piscataway. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Burial Park Mausoleum in Piscataway.
