Obituary of David M Kaplan

David M Kaplan, Taken Too Soon David M. Kaplan, 45 passed away on May 30th after his jeep turned over at exit 9 on 287. It is believed that he was cut off and forced to swerve off the road. He died hours later of his injuries. David is predeceased by his father Gerald and brother Michael and leaves behind his mother Lorraine of Piscataway and Jason of Edison. Mr. Kaplan was presently employed by Open Road, Ryan automotive Group. Mr. Kaplan also built and programmed computers customized for your individual business needs. He created web pages and hosted them; many at his own expense if their business wasn't doing well or because of the economy in general. He was an IT operator and had credentials in graphic design and as well as an internet specialist through Cisco Programming he was also a Microsoft Partner. He also had credentials as an audio engineer and was partnered with his father in California in the early 90"s and ran RO Recording Studio. The studio received gold and platinum albums for Eddy Money's "Can't Hold Back" and gold for his "Greats Hits The Sound Of Money'. The studio also received the coveted Ampex Golden Reel Award. The real Dave that everybody knew was an easy going, kind giving generous man. He never had a mean word to say about anybody and helped all. If it was fixing their computer, TV, cutting down a branch or fixing a car, he was there. He was presently helping our sixteen year old neighbor, a great kid, change the color of the interior of his jeep. When his uncle died 3 years ago he kept in touch with and helped his fiancé with whatever she needed and celebrated her birthdays with her. He didn't want her to suddenly be alone. He kept in touch with his uncle's grandchildren and guided them on life and worked with one he hadn't even met yet with computer programing via texting. He finally met him 2 years ago and was so proud of how bright this 11 year old was and how computer savvy this young man is. He loved his family and took care of shopping for the household so his mother wouldn't lift and carry heavy things because of injuries she suffered in a serious accident years ago. He put his life aside and lived with her because he wanted to take care of her. She wanted him to move on with his life but for him family came first They told each other how much they loved one another every day and he thanked her often for raising him to become the man he was. He always told her "you did a good job, Mom'. His brother Jason was the light of his life. He is almost 7 years older than him and he always felt guilty that he wouldn't always let him hang around with him and his older friends. One reason was the 3 year old brother was too young to keep secrets from mom! Of course this is normal, but even as a 45 year old man he felt bad about it. He boasted of his brothers accomplishments. That he was able to buy a condo with no mortgage a new SUV and that he worked so hard as an IT operator. He knew that Jason practically lived at his job night and day to keep the servers up and running, procuring generators during the horrific storm Sandy. He was very proud of his work ethic. David became a good friend to his mother's best friend Laura and her family. She knew him as a child and as the years passed she married and had children. Decades passed, her children grew to be young adults and they too became his wards and friends and were always in contact with him about a college course or computer help or just simple advice. He was always thankful that her husband Robert helped his mother out with plumbing problems and good conversation. That was just another family he wrapped his arms around, even if they didn't know it. He honored our veterans and donated to wounded warriors and also to St. Jude's Children's hospital because no child should have to fight alone against such a monster as cancer. David like to dabble in photography and enjoyed flying his drone capturing video footage of local and scenic areas. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and cruising in his blue GTO. Most of all he enjoyed sharing the good times with all of his many friends. All he knew was love. Taken for an early reward.
