Just was reminded that it has been a year since we lost Anne. She was a treasure. I am sad I got the reminder because it reminded me of her and made me sad. I am also glad for the reminder at the same time because I thought of her smile, her sense of humor and what a pleasure it was to know her. God bless on this day of rememberance for Anne.

I just found out that Anne had passed and am deeply saddened by her loss. I like many others absolutely loved her. She was warm, funny, smart and caring for her family and others she knew. She always found time to help you even when she was busy and who can forget her sign on her office Anne Butman, SUPER GENIUS!. That she was. She worked hard and worked well accomplishing each goal I wish all she loved peace in her passing, especially her family. God bless and keep you all. She is missed but will be watching over you.

My deepest condolences to Anne's family. She holds a special place in my heart. We had not seen each other in years, and she went out of her way to spend time with me when I was in town last year. When I think of Anne, and the time we spent together, I think of laughter, she was one of the funniest people I have ever known. But the best by far, was if you could make her laugh. She laughed with her heart and soul. She will be missed by all who knew her.

My sincere condolences to Anne's family. She loved you very, very much. Anne and I got off to a rocky start, when she was the union shop steward in TAS and I was a green manager. She sure set me straight! We found that we had many things in common, including the same birthday. Compassion and humor came naturally to Anne, and that is what I will remember most about her.

Anne Butman was, and is, a very special person. She was brilliant, organized, and very hard working. I particularly remember the really long hours she put in to complete the Fordham Lab, a digital media creation and research center at the Douglass Library, to make sure it was completely ready in time for its grand opening. While many were involved in its design and set up, I think everyone would agree, Anne was the primary reason all the complex hardware and software were ready for demonstration at the opening. And she kept fine tuning it until the day she left, resulting in the splendid resource that it is, today. She was a tough but fair and compassionate manager who expected and got great achievements from the people who worked for her. But as much as she loved her work, her family--particularly her husband and daughter--were the true loves of her life and her face lit up, and she smiled that beautiful ear-to-ear smile, whenever she talked about them. She and I shared a love of Peter Pan, and I gave her a print of Peter Pan created by a talented colleague at the Libraries. I asked what she was going to do with it. I'm putting it in Emily's room, no question, she promptly replied. She is physically separated from her family, but I have no doubt she will be watching over them for the rest of their lives and that they will see her again, when they one day join her east of the sun, west of the moon and straight on til morning.
