Dorothea Ann Kane, 75, of New Brunswick, passed away on October 1, 2018. Born and raised in Newark to the late James and Dorothea Kane (nee Kluin), she was a graduate of Our Lady of Good Council High School. Dorothea settled to New Brunswick in 1989. She was a recovering alcoholic, who's 33 years of sobriety was held through her dedication to AA meetings. An inspiration to her community, Dorothea was a member of "The Club" and supported others at their time of need. Eventually her battle with Parkinson's disease left her unable to participate within her groups, but they were never far from her heart. She was preceded in death by her dear siblings Margaret Katzgrau and John Kane. Surviving are her loving siblings Barbara Messer and her twin, James Kane and wife Jeanne, her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, her extended family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to gather for a memorial visitation on Monday, October 8, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway. Funeral services will begin with a prayer at 7:30PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dorothea's memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 Donate Online
