Obituary of Kathryn M. Solomon

Piscataway - Kathryn M. "Kay" Solomon, 86, died Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Francis E. Parker House in Piscataway. Born in Scranton, PA, Kay resided in Newark before settling to Piscataway Township. Active in the town, Kay was instrumental in starting the Senior Center, where she held the position of office administrator until her retirement in 1994. Kay was also active with Piscataway Democrats, Our Lady of Fatima's Rosary Society as well as the Red Hatters, Piscataway Bocce and Fatima Cub Scouts. Predeceased by her husband of 50 years who died in 2010, John Solomon and brother, William Ferguson; surviving are her four children, John Solomon, Michael Solomon and wife Barbara, Robert Solomon and wife Deborah and Mary Ann Solomon. She will also be missed by her eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday October 10, 2018 at 9:30AM in the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road Piscataway NJ 08854 followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Piscataway. Burial will follow in in Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway. Family and friends may gather on Tuesday from 4-8PM in the funeral home.
