Obituary of Joseph Michael Calderone

South Plainfield, NJ - Joseph Michael Calderone, 55, passed away at JFK Medical Center surrounded by the love of his family on October 17, 2018. Born in Newark to the late Manuel and Theresa (Conforti) Calderone, Joseph was a lifetime resident of South Plainfield. For twenty-eight years, Joseph dedicated his hands and talent to the Union, Middlesex and Somerset Counties. He was the proud owner of JMC Home Renovations and Emergency Home Evacuation Company in South Plainfield. All his customers knew Joe's motto, "Where Quality Matters." He took pride in all his work and his attention to detail is where he excelled and stood above the rest. His passion was renovations; whether it was small bathrooms, kitchens to full home remodels, Joe truly loved what he did. A gifted musician, he loved anything to do with music. He enjoyed playing the drums, keyboard and guitar. He had an amazing voice which led him to write and record his own music. If you were to ask Joseph who the best cook in the family was, he would tell you it was him! Predeceased by his parents Manuel and Theresa, wife Ruth (Murphy) Calderone and step-father Arthur Amorim, Joseph leaves behind a large host of family and friends that include his son Vincent, aunt and godmother Mary Ann Skrec, caretakers Cecilia and Asyhia O'Neal, sisters; Mary Ann Calderone, Kim Calderone-Pentz and fiancé Tim Patenaude, Kathy and Doug DeLisa, Theresa and Rod DeLisa, Michelle and Ed Evaldi, Melissa and Rod Torres and brother Anthony and his wife Donna. His nieces and nephews; Kayla, Amanda, Alexus and Josef Pentz, Angelina Jensen, Deanna, Leanna, Miranda, Dylan and Anthony DeLisa, Elisabeth and Eddie Evaldi, Antonio Pinto and great-niece and nephews; Kylie and Jayce Campbell and Raiden Pentz will miss him dearly. A memorial gathering honoring Joseph's life will be held in McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 on Monday, October 22, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A service reflecting Joseph's love and dedication to all those lives he touched will begin at 6:30 pm.
