Piscataway, NJ - John S. Harcar, Jr., 76, passed away at JFK Medical Center in Edison on October 26, 2018. Born in New Brunswick to the late John Sr. and Sophie (Dendis) Harcar, John has been a lifelong resident of the township. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army where he began his duty at Fort Dix then spent two years serving in Alaska. For forty years, John was employed at Thielex Plastics, formerly of Piscataway, where he worked as a machine operator. He had a love for antique cars and model trains. He formerly owned a red 1957 Chevy named Teen Angel and was especially proud of his 1957 aqua Bel Air that appeared in the movie Eddie and the Cruisers. Predeceased by his nephew Raymond Harcar, Jr., John leaves behind his loving family; brother Raymond and his wife Lucille of Piscataway and sisters Arlene of Bridgewater and Sophie Henry and her husband Glenn of Brick. John will be missed deeply by his nieces and nephews; Dana DeLair (John) of Piscataway, Matthew Hauke (Heather) of Rutland, Vermont, Pamela Early (Bryan) of Delmar, NY and Eric Hauke of Brick, as well as several great-nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Visitation will take place in Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 on Thursday, November 2, 2018 from 4-8pm and on Friday, November 2, 2018 beginning at 9:30 am. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 10:00 am followed by burial at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
