Obituary of George & Anna Spangler

George & Anna Spangler Toms River - George and Anna (nee Sterenchalk ) Spangler beloved husband and wife of 64 years died last week at their home. George and Anna were both born in Hazleton, Pa and had resided in South Plainfield before settling to Toms River in 2001. Anna had been a cafeteria worker for the South Plainfield Board of Education and George was a Purchasing Agent for Metz Metallurgical Company in South Plainfield and a veteran of the United States Army, serving as a medic in the infantry division during WWII and was awarded the bronze star. Surviving are two sons; George and his wife Brenda of Virginia Beach, VA., Michael and his wife, Sue of South Plainfield, three grandchildren; George Spangler Jr. Of Buckeye, AZ., Nicole Spangler of Simpsonville, SC., and Michael Spangler of Allamuchy, NJ., and two step grandchildren; Cindy Winslow and BobbieJo Taylor of Virginia Beach, VA. Funerals services were held under the direction of the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
