Bridgewater, NJ Joseph Ravelle, Jr., 81, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Born in Newark to his late parents, Joseph Sr. and Emma (Epifano) Ravelle, he grew up in Newark, raised his family in Union, and has been a resident of Bridgewater for the last fourteen years.He served his country during the Korean War in the United States Navy. He retired after over thirty dedicated years working at IBM as an Electronics Customer Engineer.Joseph enjoyed building radio control planes, was an avid collector of model airplanes, and loved anything involving aviation. He belonged to the Bridgewater Seniors and was a member of the Union Model Airplane Club.Above all things, Joseph loved spending time with his family, especially his four grandchildren.He was predeceased by his wife Sally, whom he was married to for forty-five years.Joseph leaves behind his loving daughters; Donna Peckis and her husband Brent of Marlton and Deborah Chok and her husband Kenny of Middlesex, his four adored grandchildren; Jenna and Dylan Peckis and Brian and Holly Chok and his brother Ronald Ravelle and his wife Carmela of Colonia. He also leaves behind his two dear gerbils; Huey and Louie as well as many extended family and friends.Visitation will take place at the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 4-8 pm and on Friday, May 16, 2014 from 10:30 am until 11:00 am.Services will take place at the funeral home on Friday, May 16, 2014 beginning 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Visiting Nurses Association of Somerset Hills, 200 Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920.
