To the family of Helen Shelby
Please accept my sincere condolences. I have taken comfort knowing that God . . . will wipe all tears from their eyes, and there will be no more death, suffering, crying, or pain.”—Revelation 21:3, 4
The Bible, however, holds out a much different hope. As we have previously noted, the Scriptures indicate that it is possible to be reunited with your dead loved one in the near future, not in an unknown heaven but right here on earth under peaceful, righteous conditions. And at that time humans will have the prospect of enjoying perfect health, and they will never have to die again. ‘But surely that is wishful thinking!’ for some may say. For words of encouragement please go to JW.org
Sincerely,
Roberta

My deepest sympathy to you all during this most difficult time in your lives. I pray you find some comfort from each other, memories & from God’s promise of a coming resurrection mentioned in the Bible at John 5:28, 29.

Dear Miss Helen,
By now you are comfortable in Heaven because I am sure Roosevelt Sr. met you at the Pearly Gates with flowers in hand and open heart filled with love, hugs and kisses! I bet that hug and that kiss could have lasted an eternity. As a matter fact, the Marines at the Gate had to gently remind you to move it along because you caused a line to build up for the “New Arrivals”.
I have the privilege to be married to Helen and Ro’s youngest daughter Melinda. On our first date I sat in their living room on the traditional plastic covered furnishing, surrounded by two huge white lamps with small bronze cranes appliques. One of which was cracked by her husband and glued together until the sun broke the seal and he was busted years later.
Although our first meeting was on the phone 42 years ago you might say Miss Helen knows me better than I know myself. With very few words to say on Melinda and I’s first date except, “It’s a pleasure to finally meet you and now I have a face to match the voice. By the way you might just have dating potential.” On the other hand, her husband said, this is my baby girl and make sure you: “Treat her with respect, kindness and be a gentleman at all times and if anything, happens to my daughter you will most certainly come up missing!”
Now almost 40 years together: I see why my wife then girlfriend makes certain makeup choices, I see why when she cooks I gain weight, I see where her fashion sense comes from, I see why when and if we argue she goes to the East Wing and I go to the West Wing, I see why she is so naturally motherly and comforting to all, I see why when she laughs the whole world laughs with her, I see why all children attract to her like a magnet, I see why she’s so thrifty and wise with money, and finally I see why I fell in love with her so many years ago. I got the best of the best of Miss Helen in her! Mrs. Helen Shelby: amazing lady, compassionate care giver, devoted wife and Christian Woman who loved her family and Praise the Lord. I am honored and truly blessed to call you Mom.
Love always, Bernard
