Obituary of Ursula C. Kaspereen
Valdosta, GA – Ursula C (Costello) Kaspereen, 85 of Gulfport, Florida, passed away in Valdosta, GA on March 16, 2019. The daughter of Thomas W. and Cecilia M Costello (Lyons) she was born March 12, 1934, in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
After High School Ursula worked at Bell Telephone in Elizabeth. She married Frank Kaspereen and settled in South Plainfield where they raised their four children. Many days were spent sitting on the front porch, which was a gathering place for her neighbors and children. She spent several years working part time in the South Plainfield High School cafeteria.
She was a faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and was always in attendance at Sunday night Bingo. She loved attending her children’s sporting events and could easily be heard in the stands ringing her cowbell. Ursula was a NY Yankees fan, particularly during the Billy Martin era. She was also a big Joe Namath fan.
Ursula loved her family and Irish heritage. Her favorite Holiday was St. Patrick’s Day. She and Frank attended many Irish music events. They retired in Gulfport Florida.
Ursula was predeceased by her husband, Frank and first son Frank Thomas. She is survived by her children, Michael and his wife Mary of Maine, Theresa of Georgia, Paul of Georgia and Walter and his wife Lynn of Delaware. She is also survived by her grandson Jacob and his wife Macey, granddaughters Madison and Hannah, and great-grandson Cooper, along with many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brothers Thomas, Jack and sister Delores.
A funeral Mass will be held at Saint John’s Church in Valdosta on April 8 at 9:30 am.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, May 3, 2019 in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080 from 4 to 7 p.m.
Family and friends may gather back on aturday May 4, 2019, from 9 to 10 a.m. for Ursula's memorial service.
Burial will follow at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia, N.J.
