Obituary of Dorothy Apice
South Plainfield – Dorothy Apice, 86, died Friday May 31, 2019 in Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Born in Newark, NJ to the late Francis and Alfonso D’Alessio, Dorothy and her husband, Dominick settled to South Plainfield in July 1973.
An avid reader, Dorothy enjoyed television and taking trips to Atlantic City with the South Plainfield Seniors and was a parishioner of Sacred Heart RC Church. Dorothy will be remembered as a loving, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Dominick E. Apice; three children, Francine Swensen and husband Gregg of Pittsboro, NC, Richard Apice, Sr. and wife Judy of Somerset, Marcy Nardo and partner Dave McKiernan of Franklin Park, NJ and former son in law, John Nardo, Sr.
She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Nicole Riley (Mike), Richard D. Apice, Jr. (Michelle), John Nardo, Jr. Chris Nardo (Jamie) and two great grandchildren, Michael and Leah.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 9AM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield at 10AM.
Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield.
Family and friends may gather on Sunday from 3-7PM in the funeral home.
