South Plainfield – Janet (Yonkman) Lowich, 90, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, July 17, 2019.  Born in Milltown to the late Arnold and Mary (Martin) Yonkman, Janet settled to South Plainfield in 1948.

 

Janet was very talented with her hands.  She loved doing crafts, especially quilting, crocheting and knitting.  She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in South Plainfield, volunteered countless hours with Deborah Heart and Lung but her most cherished time was when she was with her family.

 

Predeceased by her husband Walter in 1981, son Wayne and siblings; Henry, Gloria, Arnold, Shirley and June, Janet leaves behind her loving and devoted family; son Walter and his wife Donna, daughters; Valerie Iskierka and husband John and Laura Held and her husband John as well as her grandchildren; Matthew, Sara, Gregory, Timothy, Jeffrey and Eliza and several great-grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be held in McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 on Monday, July 22, 2019 from 3-6 pm with a 5:30 pm closing religious service.  Burial will be held privately at Lake Nelson Memorial Park in Piscataway.
