Obituary of Rita E. Farley
Middlesex, NJ – Rita E. (Hicks) Farley, 80, passed away at St. Peters University Hospital in New Brunswick on November 3, 2019 with her loving family at her bedside. Born in Newark to the late Daniel Joseph and Annie (Lorimer) Hicks, Rita moved to Piscataway in 1966 and settled to Middlesex in 2004.
A devoted housewife, mother, and grandmother, Rita enjoyed spending her time as a homemaker. She was an avid reader, loved listening to music, especially anything Irish and could always be found watching Law and Order.
Predeceased by her husband Henry in 2004, son Kevin in 2002 and five siblings; Francis, Margaret, Sarah, Daniel and Georgetta, Rita leaves behind her loving and devoted family; daughters Anne Farley of Piscataway and Colleen Kaplan and her husband Sean of Middlesex, brother William Hicks of Matawan, eight grandchildren; Michael and Megan Jones, Sarah and Bradley Kaplan and Christopher, Kerri, Dylan and Brett Farley as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held in the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Thursday, November 7, 2019 beginning 8:00 am.
Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 8:30 am in the funeral home followed by a 9:30 am funeral mass at St. Francis Cabrini Church in Piscataway. Rita will then be laid to rest besides her husband at Resurrection Burial Park also in Piscataway.
