We saw Irene and Gilbert in church almost every weekend, and she never failed to make a point of giving my boys a big hug, especially my autistic son. Clearly, he had a special place in her heart, and for that I will be forever grateful. I won't be able to explain her passing to my autistic guy, but maybe, from Heaven, she has a way to let him know. She told my boys she loved them, and we replied the same. And I am very glad we did.
