Obituary of Dominic Demico

South Plainfield – Dominic Demico, Sr., 87, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020 in Palm Coast Florida with his children by his side. Born to the late Daniel and Anna (Tom), Dominic is a second generation resident of South Plainfield. An honorable discharged veteran of the United States Navy, Dominic worked as a barber after his service, running his own shop in Manville for 10 years. He later established Holly Park Plumbing, Heating and Cooling and after 25 years of running his own business, he went on to serve as a plumbing inspector for Woodbridge Township until his retirement. He was also a teacher in the apprenticeship training program at the Middlesex County Vocational School. A lifelong parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, he is also a life member of the Italian American Club, South Plainfield, as well as a lifetime member of both the South Plainfield VFW and South Plainfield American Legion. Additionally, he has been involved with the Piscataway Rotary Club for 35 years. Predeceased by his beloved wife Anna R. (Butrico) Demico, who passed in June 2015 and brother, Joseph Demico; surviving are his two children, Rosanne Ilardo and husband Jim of Palm Coast, Fl and Dominic Demico, Jr. and wife Moira (Terry) of South Plainfield; sisters,Lucy Hudson ( Marvin) and Diana Gallo; his grandchildren, Diane Romano, Camille Baker and her husband Jonathan, Dominic Demico, III and Joseph Demico and two great grandchildren, Miles and Graham Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 9AM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church at 10AM. Burial will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Family and friends may gather in the funeral home on Sunday from 2-6PM.
