Somerset, NJ – Sandra E. DiLonardo, 88, passed away at the Rehab at Rivers Edge in Raritan on Sunday, March 8, 2020. Born and raised in Manhattan, she moved to Teaneck where she graduated high school and settled to North Plainfield once she was married and began raising her family. She was a longtime resident of Middlesex until moving to Somerset. For over twenty years, Sandra was a legal secretary for AT&T. She belonged to Our Lady of Mount Virgin church in Middlesex and was a member of the Democratic National Committee. Sandra had a love for Shakespeare and classic literature, enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and loved playing bingo and in her earlier years, she enjoyed roller derby. Sandra loved spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Matt of Somerset and Kim Phillips and her husband Tim of West Milford, NJ, her son Harry DiLonardo of Mansfield, TX and eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020 from 6-8 pm at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846. On Friday, March 13, 2020 family and friends are invited to attend the 9:30 am memorial mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, 600 Harris Avenue, Middlesex, NJ 08846.
