Obituary of Travon Dickson
It is with deep sorrow that we announce passing of Travon Dickson who the entered arms of the Lord surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 4, 2020. Born in New Brunswick to Jacqueline (Jones) and Samad Dickson, Travon is a lifelong resident of South Plainfield. He began school with the Creative Kids Academy and continued into elementary school in both Franklin and Grant School. Currently Travon was a student at the South Plainfield High School. An active kid, Travon spent time with his friends riding bikes and was always willing to lend a helping hand to his father. He played flag football for the South Plainfield Eagles as well as basketball for the South Plainfield Recreation program. He also played basketball for the City of Plainfield Recreational Program. While Travon was a student in the Middle School, he was a member of the track team competing in the 100 and 200 meter dash, and was a member of the Chess and Ski Clubs. In addition to his school activities, Travon also held a Black Belt in Taekwondo that he earned at Master Guillians ATA Martial Arts Academy. He is survived by his devoted parents, Jacqueline and Samad Dickson; sister, Jazlyn Dickson; maternal grandparents, Robin and Thomas Jones; paternal grandparents, Trudy and Kenneth Morant; paternal grandfather, Eric Dickson; great grandmother, Jeannette Mayo; aunts, Kiata Johns, Tahani Dickson and Sanuri Dickson and uncles, Lavar Jones and Nuri Dickson. He will also be missed by a host of additional loving relatives and dear friends. Travon will be laid to rest on Friday, April 10, 2020 Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
