April 10 , 2020 - GOOD FRIDAY !
Awakened by the news of your passing dear Elvie . It was an absolute shock and disbelief for all of us , your classmates and friends / sisters BGHSN ‘72 . It was only in Nov 2019 , we spent memorable days at our reunion in Houston , Texas . You epitomized and lived life to the fullest ! You were bigger than life itself , touching everyone you met whether it be a few minutes or as lifelong friendships. You had a charisma rivaled only by your innate ability to connect with people that came your way . Your genuine personality and sincerity were attributes that all of us are going to miss . You lived your Nightingale Pledge through the years of your nursing career . You mentored , you lead but also touched and cared for many lives in their frailty . You died a hero , a frontliner , as the world battles this beast we call COVID 19 ! How can we muster saying a final goodbye when we were all going to grow old together ! We will miss you Elvie ... we will grieve your untimely death and our reunions will never be the same again . We pray for Billy , your children Ryan , Ellery , Jennifer and JR and your beloved grandchildren . We pray that they may find joy in their memories of you . We pray that God bless you and shelter you in the peace of heaven and eternal life . Rest and slumber deep , dear friend ! We will forever keep you in our hearts . On behalf of BGHSN ‘72
