Obituary of Allan P. Mazurak
South Plainfield – Allan P. Mazurak, 62, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020 at home.
Born to the late Walter and Julia (Magulak) Mazurak in Somerville, Allan graduated from Bridgewater West High School in 1975 where he was a NJ State Golf Champion. He went on to receive his associate’s degree from Raritan Valley Community College (formerly Somerset County College). Al and his wife of 35 years, Lisa, settled in South Plainfield in 1988 to raise their family.
A devoted father and husband, Al coached his children’s sports teams as well as refereed Rec basketball games. He will be remembered for all the cherished moments with his children and grandchildren, his friendly smile and his countless “dad” jokes. Al also enjoyed coin collecting, listening to music and rooting for the local sports teams.
Predeceased by his parents, Walter and Julia Mazurak and father in law, Arthur Chicarelli; surviving are his wife, Lisa C. Mazurak of South Plainfield; two children, Stephanie Towers and husband Mike of Metuchen and Allan “AJ” Mazurak Jr. and wife Stephanie of San Antonio, TX ; three grandchildren, Melia, Marcos and Mateo Mazurak and granddogs, Stella, Rosco and Wilbur.
He will also be missed by his brother, Walter Mazurak of Lambertville; mother in law, Christine Chicarelli; sisters in law, Lori Tomei and husband Steve of Piscataway and Linda Pellicane and husband Tom of Hillsborough and brother in law, Art Chicarelli and wife Linda of Middlesex as well as many nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 10:30AM in Sacred Heart RC Church, 149 South Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by entombment in Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Allan’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
