Obituary of Franklin W. Hannah
Franklin Warren Hannah Senior was born on November 1st 1948in Newark, NJ to the late Morgan and Stella Hannah and was theyoungest of 5 children. Frank was raised and educated in the public-school system inKearny NJ where he played football as a running back for KearnyHigh school. It was there he developed the passion of being on awinning team and decided to enlist and serve in the United States Army. Frank's dedication and love for his country allowed him to rise inthe ranks of the army and was awarded sergeant in command. After serving in the armed forces, Frank took up work for Metro Northwhere he continued that passion and dedication on the railroad forover 30 years.
Frank married Deborah Hannah and had a passion and love forhis family. He loved nothing more than to spend quality time withhis wife, kids, and grandchildren. He enjoyed the family trips takentwice a year. He loved the scenery and excitement of Las Vegas. Tohim, a nice hot grill with some food surrounded by his family andfriends was a great weekend. He loved sports, for anyone that knewhim he stood behind his Jets “As lousy as they are” (his words).Frank was a great man and loved by all who knew him.
On December 13th 2020 @3:18pm Frank departed this life for hisheavenly home. He made his transition surrounded by love from his wife and children. Frank was preceded in death by his sister Della White and brother Larry Rauson.
Frank is survived by his wife Deborah Hannah, son FranklinHannah Jr, son Quincy Hannah, daughter Donesha Bowers (Derek),daughter Donna Atkinson (Floyd), son Hassan Harris (Francisco),brother Harry Hannah (Sheila), sisters: Mary-lou Covingtion andLavinna Braham. Grandchildren: Davon Harris, Trequan Hannah,Quincy Hannah Jr, Brianna Harris, Jyheem Benjamin, EmanuelAtkinson, and Morgan Hannah - A host of nephews, cousins, and hisvery dear friend Mike.
Visitation for Mr. Hannah will be held in the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
