Obituary of Pauline Bullwinkel
South Plainfield – Pauline Bullwinkel, 94, passed away Friday, February 19, 2021 at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune.
Born in Newark to the late Stanley and Elizabeth Adamiak, Pauline grew up in Belleville before settling in South Plainfield in 1951.
A bookkeeper for the former Resistoflex Company, she also worked for many years with Wembly Ties of New Orleans as an office administrator, and managed the family’s Harmony Natural Foods, Sparta. In her younger years, Pauline was active with the Franklin School PTA and South Plainfield Girl Scouts. She was an active member of the South Plainfield Seniors and traveled extensively with the South Plainfield Adult Education and St. Luke’s Traveling Seniors.
Pauline was an avid reader, enjoyed cross word puzzles, trivia games, and was a frequent traveler. She and her husband traveled extensively with the Submarine Veterans of WWII, most notably to Pearl Harbor for the 50th Anniversary of the December 7, 1941 bombing, where they met President George H.W. Bush.
Predeceased by her husband, Arthur J. Bullwinkel and two children, Cathy Bullwinkel, and James of Sparta; surviving are her siblings, James Adamiak and wife Anne of Piscataway, Alice Orsulak of Cedar Grove, Elizabeth Dinne of Manasquan, and Stanley Adamiak and wife Carolyn of Maryland, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Pauline was a very outgoing, fun-loving person, who enjoyed meeting people. She will be remembered for her love of family and infectious smile.
