Francis J. Lasko

Age: 90 * Formerly of South Plainfield

 

Watchung, NJ – Francis J. Lasko, 90, passed away at Brandywine Assited Living in Watchung on Monday, March 1, 2021.  Born in Raritan Township to the late Anthony and Mary (Caffel) Lasko, Frank grew up in Perth Amboy and lived in South Plainfield for sixty years before settling to Brandywine Assisted Living. 

 

An honorably discharged veteran of the United States Navy, Frank served the United States proudly during the Korean War.  In 1992, he retired from PSE&G where he worked for over forty years.

 

An avid sports fan, not only did he watch sports on television, he played basketball and played minor league baseball for the Brooklyn Dodgers in the 1950’s.  Frank liked to golf in his later years and thoroughly loved Atlantic City and complete crossword puzzles in his spare time.  Frank loved dogs and will be remembered by all those that knew him for his calm demeanor and warm smile.

 

Predeceased by his son Mark Matthew Lasko in 2011 and his in-laws Michael and Margaret Kubick, Frank leaves behind his wife of sixty-four years; Joan (Kubick) Lasko of Wachung, sister-in-law Loretta Dachishen of Sewaren, niece Lori Malyar and her husband John of Hillsborough and nephew Scott Dachishen of Sewaren.  He also leaves behind a great-niece, three great-nephews, a great-great nephew, three great-great nieces and several cousins.

 

A graveside service was held in the family plot of Holy Trinity Cemetery in Perth Amboy.
