Obituary of David B. Jevic

Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Readington – David B. Jevic, 60, passed away suddenly on March 17, 2021 at home.

A lifelong resident of Central Jersey and graduate of Rutgers University, David lived in Arizona and Arkansas during his college football career.  In college, David was a heavyweight champion wrestler and a walk on nose guard and special team’s football player for Universities in Arizona and Arkansas.

After college, David initially worked in the marketing department for Lord & Taylor in Manhattan, then went on to manage a re-seller retail store in South Plainfield and assisted real estate agents securing mortages for homebuyers. During his career, David also worked at Jake’s Randolph Tire Service and Texaco station and started his own Landscaping Company in Plainfield; he retired from A&P Supermarkets in Warren.

With a wonderful smile and infectious laugh, he lived life with a fierce determination and a childlike sense of humor.  David took pride in carrying on the traditional family recipes of his Russian and Slovak heritage and loved Christmas music and rock and roll.  David, a man who you could never forget once meeting him, will be missed forever and forever remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle and a great friend.

Predeceased by his parents, John and Lillian Jevic; David is survived his brothers, Donald Jevic and wife Linda, John Mitchell Jevic and wife Catherine and William Jevic and wife Anna; nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Melanie, Casandra, Briana, Johnathan, Andrew and grand nieces and nephews, Derek, Deziree, Tyasia, Shaun and Alannah along with extended family and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s memory to The Rutgers University Foundation Athletics R Fund Wrestling Program, give.rutgers.edu or to a charity of your choice.
