Obituary of Maria G. Goncalves
South Plainfield – Maria G. Goncalves, 86, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021 at home.
Born in Portugal, Maria resided in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil before settling to South Plainfield in 1965. She worked as a nurse’s aid in JFK Medical Center, Edison for many years. Maria was very talented at sewing and crocheting, she also often crocheted baby blankets for the hospital and also enjoyed shopping.
Surviving are her two sons, Antonio Goncalves and wife Nellie and Carlos Goncalves and husband Tom Mayer; three grandchildren, Nicholas, David and wife Jackie and Jessie Billy and husband Michael as well as her great grandson, Daniel. She also leaves behind her two brothers, Manuel and Edward Garcia of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Funeral services are private and under the direction of the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals.
