Edward R. Komorek, Sr., 89, passed away peacefully Wednesday Evening, November 3, 2021 in the Center of Hope Hospice.

Born in Newark, to Joseph and Katherine (Dziki) Komorek, he was the youngest of eight. Ed grew up in the Iron Bound Section of Newark,NJ relocating to Summit with his siblings in the 1950s. Over the next few years, he lived in South Plainfield and Somerville prior to retiring to Florida.

Edward served our Country with the United States Army during the Korean War and worked as a machinist for Egan Machinery in Manville, NJ for many years. He enjoyed collecting coins and stamps as well as fishing and bowling.

Predeceased by his seven siblings, surviving are his three children; Barbara Wolk and husband Steve, Anna Komorek Subacius and husband Paul, and Edward Komorek Jr and wife Renee as well as his six grandchildren, Maria Kinney, Cadence Testa, Shelby Wolk, Samantha Wolk and Gabriella Subacius.

 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 9:00 AM in the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex NJ 08846 followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of Mount Virgin RC Church, Middlesex at 10:00 AM.

 

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 8, 2021 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM in the funeral home.
