Obituary of Robert Dilley
Robert M. Dilley, 59, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 in South Plainfield.
Born in Jersey City, Bobby grew up in South Plainfield before settling to Piscataway.
A “Jack of All Trades” Bobby enjoyed carpentry, mechanic and plumbing projects and grilling, particularly smoking meat.
He also loved to spend time outdoors. An elite gardener, he often referred to his home as the “Shangri – Dilley” and also enjoyed hiking and biking.
In addition to his several hobbies, Bobby was nearing retirement form the Dunellen branch of the United States Postal Service.
Predeceased by his father Russell F. and brother, Russell A., surviving is his wife of 34 years, Mary (Macellara); children, Katelyn Rispoli and her husband Mike, Dana Jones and her husband Derrick and Sara Dilley; mother, Frances Dilley; brother, John Dilley and his wife Arlene, and granddaughter, Raegan Rispoli. Also surviving are 12 nieces and nephews as well as several loving extended relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022 from 4-8pm in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 9:45am in the funeral home followed by a 10:30am funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield.
Cremation services will follow privately.
