Obituary of Joseph F. Goffreda
South Plainfield - Joseph F. Goffreda, 94, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Born and raised in Newark, Joe settled to South Plainfield in 1955. He worked as a tool designer for the former Weston Instrument in Newark and retired from General Dynamics in Avenel.
He proudly served our country with the U. S Army during WWII.
A parishioner of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield Joe was also a member of the South Plainfield Senior Citizens and a former member of VFW Post 6763.
Predeceased by his wife Alice and six siblings; surviving are his three sons, Stephen and his wife Margaret of West Virginia, Kenneth Goffreda of Millstone and Joseph Goffreda of Columbus as well as, eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Burial will be held in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 10:30AM.
