Obituary of Julie A. Meikle

Julie A. Meikle, 87, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at home in Pt. Pleasant Beach.

Born and raised in Westfield, Mrs. Meikle moved to South Plainfield in 1967 where she resided until relocating to Pt. Pleasant Beach nearly four years ago.

Julie loved gardening and cooking. She was a huge animal lover and took in many stray animals over her years. She also enjoyed visiting and spending time with family as well as writing letters in support of different causes. 

Mrs. Meikle is predeceased by her husband, Herbert, son, Donald,  brother, Joseph “Louer” Guglielmi and sister in-law, Virginia Waters.

Surviving are her daughters, Lisa Busichio and her husband Joe of Pt. Pleasant Beach and Kim Kandels and her husband Steve of South Plainfield; her sons, Herb Meikle and his wife Susan of East Brunswick and Tom Meikle of Winona Lakes, PA.; her sisters, Tillie Weinzierl and her husband Russ of Brick, Cookie Reinhardt of Neptune and Jean Diskin of Garwood; her grandchildren, Richard, Jennifer, Michael Joseph, Gianna and Nicole, great grandchildren, Bella and Andrew and her loyal companion, “Biebs.” Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

The Meikle family would like to extend a sincere thank you to two special individuals, Jani and Patty who respectfully and graciously helped caring for our mother for the last two years.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022 from 7-9pm in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080.

The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 10:30am in the funeral home. Immediately following the funeral service, Mrs. Meikle will be laid to rest alongside her late husband at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
