Obituary of Joyce Lagrosa
Joyce J. Lagrosa, 80, of Lake Ariel passed away Tuesday morning, February 7, 2023, at Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart, PA, after a long illness. Her beloved husband, James J. Lagrosa survives her.
Joyce was born in Paterson, NJ to the late Anthony and Rose (Eppilito) Elia. She grew up in Fair Lawn.
Joyce earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education and was an English Teacher for many years. A faithful Roman Catholic, Joyce was a member of St. Thomas More Church in Lake Ariel, however, prior to relocating to Lake Ariel, she was a member of St. Frances Cabrini RC Church in Piscataway, NJ for 35 years.
She is also survived by three children: Dawn Lagrosa of Hamilton, NJ, Lawrence Lagrosa of Piscataway, NJ, and Gregory Lagrosa of Pittsburgh, PA along with her granddaughter, Esme Lagrosa, of Pittsburgh, and her sister, Lois Upper of Snowmass, CO.
A Blessing Service was held on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the Howell Family Funeral Home, Inc., Edward R. Howell Funeral Director, 269 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA 18472 with Deacon Edward Kelly officiating.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Frances Cabrini RC Church, 208 Bound Brook Ave, Piscataway, NJ, on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, beginning at 10 AM.
Inurnment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway, New Jersey.
