Obituary of Charles M. Pagano
North Plainfield, NJ – Charles M. Pagano, 71, passed away in the early hours of February 12, 2023 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Somerset in Somerville. Born in Jersey City to the late Michael and Dorothy (Taber) Pagano, Charlie lived in Bayonne, Plainfield and eventually settled in North Plainfield.
He retired in 2000 from the North Plainfield Department of Public Works. He formerly worked for eighteen years as a roofer for Karcher & Sons Roofing before starting his own business, Town & Country Roofing. Charlie was an avid saltwater fisherman, enjoyed vacationing in the Outer Banks, NC and was a former fireman with the North Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department.
Predeceased by his brother Michael J. Pagano, Charlie is survived by his beloved wife Paula Ann (Russo) Pagano and their children; Laurie Bramley and Charles S. Pagano and his wife Denise. Charlie will be missed dearly by his three adored grandchildren; Alex, Kaila and Kayden as well as his siblings; Theresa Spisso (Bill,) Carol Layman (Bill,) Kathy Mazza (Bruce,) and Robert Pagano (Eileen.)
Visitation will be held in McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 2pm – 5pm. A concluding prayer service will begin at 4:30pm and at the request of the family, cremation will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations sent in Charlie’s name to the National Park Service, Outer Banks Group, 1401 National Park Drive, Manteo, NC 27954 would be appreciated.
