Obituary of William Louis Schroeder, III
South Plainfield, NJ – William Louis Schroeder, III, 57, died suddenly in his sleep on February 25, 2023. Born in Rahway to Janice Eileen (Hogg) and the late William Louis Schroeder, Jr., Billy grew up in Colonia before moving to Edison then later, after marrying his wife Carol (Fellin,) they settled to South Plainfield.
Billy started his thirty-five year career in July of 1986 with Woodbridge Township working in Parks and Recreation and then was transferred to the Department of Sanitation. He was a laborer on the back of the trucks before moving up to truck driver and ultimately retiring in 2022 as Sanitation Supervisor.
He loved to cook, play video games and do anything creative. From doing crafts to building things for his home or doing upgrades on his Dodge pick-up, Billy was always tinkering around the house. An Avid sports lover, throughout his life, Bill enjoyed playing Baseball, Soccer and Hockey. Prior to his father’s death, Billy worked side by side with him as a general contractor with B&B General Contractors. He was also formerly a volunteer fireman with the Colonia Fire Department.
If Billy was not playing with his two dogs; Harley and Buster, or spending time with his children, he could be found sitting on the couch watching movies with his wife.
